Nottinghamshire Hospice
Nottinghamshire Hospice is committed to ensuring the best possible palliative care for adults with a life limiting illness, and to giving respite and support to their carers.
We provide Care Services for our community from the Daycare facility in the heart of Nottingham, and through our Hospice at Home service within the patients’ own homes. Our primary aim is to provide ever improving, free professional Daycare and Homecare for all patients over the age of eighteen within the Nottingham area, in order that patients may live their lives as fully as possible and be able to die with peace and dignity. Of this, approximately 30% comes from the local Primary Care Trusts and the remaining 1.2 million has to be raised from donations, fundraising activities and events, our Hospice Lottery and through our Hospice shops. History of the Hospice
"We opened in 1980 with £3000 in the bank, no full time staff and much work to be done. Convincing the medical world and raising the necessary money to keep going were the predominant activities of the time. The generousity of the people of Nottingham and the hard work of so many have enabled the Hospice to grow into the success it is today". Bernard Brady
