Access Self Storage Nottingham sets Christmas challenge in aid of Nottinghamshire Hospice
The annual Access Self Storage Christmas Charity Appeal is now open, with local residents and businesses invited to drop off any new gifts for adults with terminal and life-limiting illnesses, supported Nottinghamshire Hospice. Donations can be left from now until December 15th at Access Self Storage Nottingham.
Generous locals are challenged to beat last year’s national collection, which saw more than 1,500 presents, including games, books, toys, clothing and even home-made creations given to charity. So far nearly 3,000 gifts have been collected for charities all across the UK in the history of the access Self Storage Christmas appeal.
Elaine Hopkins, Community Fundraiser at Nottinghamshire Hospice said: “We believe that every day should be the best it possibly can be for a patient, their family and all those who care for them. Our Day Therapy Centre in Mapperley provides complementary therapy, physiotherapy, counselling and bereavement services, and arranges group activities that bring back the joy to lives affected by illness.
“Our Hospice at Home service also delivers one-to-one care to patients, enabling them to stay in their own homes if they wish to. Every year, we need to raise £2.7million to keep providing our services free of charge and to ensure that people across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness, are not alone during the most difficult time of their lives.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to Access Self Storage for choosing to support Nottinghamshire Hospice for their Christmas appeal, helping us to fulfil our mission of adding life to days.”
Nottingham Access Self Storage manager, Lee Humphreys, said: “Our staff selected Nottinghamshire Hospice to receive this year’s donations because we really believe in the great work they do.”
Humphreys continued: “The acts of kindness that the collection inspires is a reminder to everyone that there are people out there who really care, and who are happy to put a smile on someone’s face they haven’t even met, simply because it’s Christmas.”
All donations may be left at the reception of Access Self Storage Nottingham where they will be stored safely until they are delivered to the Nottinghamshire Hospice after the 15th of December.
