£28,450 (Pro-rata) per annum
Based on a 37.5 hour week

26 hours 15 minutes per week predominantly Monday – Friday

(may require flexible working over a weekend or evening)

5 weeks’ Holiday plus Bank Holidays (Pro-rata)

As part of the Hospice’s commitment to expanding our Bereavement & Carer Support services we are looking to recruit an experienced Counsellor to work as our Bereavement & Carer Support Manager with a focus on post bereavement support services. This post will work alongside our Bereavement & Carer Support Manager for pre-bereavement and carer support in jointly developing these services for the hospice.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Counsellor with experience ideally gained within a palliative care environment. You will work with current legislation and professional codes of practice and conduct (ie. BACP/UKCP).  You must have proven communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to use your own initiative and to work autonomously.

The role requires the candidate to recruit, train and line manage the supervision of counsellors, chaplains and bereavement support volunteers.

The post is based in the Day Therapy Unit but will also involve some work within the community, the ability to travel from place to place is essential.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
