Legacies and Wills

Sue Fyleman, our Legacy and Trusts FundraisersSue Fyleman joined us in May 2007 as our Legacy and Trusts Fundraiser. Sue has a background in business management, local government and all aspects of fundraising, having worked as a Regional Manager, and a Legacy Marketing Manager for other charities.

"I feel so privileged to be a member of the Hospice Fundraising Team, and to play my part in the huge task of raising the £1.5m of voluntary income needed to deliver the vital Hospice services in and around Nottingham year on year. My colleagues are full of enthusiasm and the work of the Hospice very inspiring, so I am confident that 2008 will be a very rewarding time for us all".

"Like most people I have my favourite charities which I regularly support however, it wasn’t until I began my job with another charity that I even considered leaving a Legacy to one of those charities in my Will. For many of us, making a Will is something that we occasionally think about but quickly push to the back of our minds, finding the subject too daunting. Becoming a Legacy Fundraiser showed me not only the importance and value of legacy gifts to a charity, but also the enormous joy that we, as donors, can generate with such a gift".

Sue also wants to remind us that the Hospice is supported by a number of local solicitors. To find out more about these solicitors and how they can help you make or update your will, click here.

"I now feel passionately that we all have a responsibility to help ‘spread the word’ about the importance of making a Will. We also need to share how, remembering Nottinghamshire Hospice in our Will can bring such lasting benefit; Legacies will make a real difference to those families in Nottinghamshire who are in such need of our help and support. In fact…if you remember Nottinghamshire Hospice in your Will it could be the most valuable gift you ever give".
