Support for Carers
An important part of the services provided by Nottinghamshire Hospice, is to provide a support network for the carers of the patients who attend the Hospice.
Nottinghamshire Hospice is committed to ensuring the best possible palliative care for adults with a life limiting illness, and to giving respite and support to their carers.
Our support services for carers are an important part of the services we provide. They include our Carer Support Group, our Bereavement Service and our Counselling Service:
Our Carer Support Group: This meets on the last Thursday of each month from 10.30am - 12.30pm at the Hospice. Anyone who is caring for our Daycare or Hospice at Home Patients is very welcome to come along. We hope to provide Complementary Therapies at these sessions and emotional support is always available.

Our Counselling Service: We offer a free, confidential and professional counselling service to our patients, their carers and family members.
Our Bereavement Service: At a support meeting, relatives and carers came together with staff to share in a time of remembrance of loved ones who had died. This not only provided relatives with a safe environment to share experiences, but also allowed staff to reflect on their memories of the patients for whom they cared.
