Who is eligible?
Adults (i.e. over the age of 18) with a life limiting illness (with a life expectancy of one year or less).
More »Who can refer and how?
A GP, District Nurse or Specialist Nurse can make a referral. Most referrals are made by telephone (0115 910 1008 – please ask for the nurse on duty).

No, we have patients from all age ranges (18 years and upwards) in different stages of their illness.
More »Is it depressing?
No, it is a very happy place to be. Though there are sad moments, there is also a lot of laughter.
More »Do I have to pay?
No, it is a completely free service.
More »How do I get there?
Volunteer drivers will collect you from home and bring you back at the end of the day. For those who are wheelchair dependent, one of our mini-buses with a tail-lift and nurse escort will be used (this is a free service).
More »Will my special dietary needs be catered for?
Yes - special dietary needs can be catered for by our experienced catering team. A nutritional assessment is undertaken and assistance with meals can be provided by the nursing staff if required.
More »Is there a doctor on site?
We have a part-time Medical Advisor who works three days per week.
More »How often can I come to the Hospice?
We usually offer one day a week to begin with. This may be increased dependent upon need and availability.
More »Are there any beds?
We are a day centre and do not offer any inpatient services at present.
More »How many people can be cared for each day?
The maximum number of patients we can care for in Daycare is 30 per day.

The catchment area for Nottinghamshire Hospice is within approx 10 mile radius from the Hospice on Woodborough Road, Nottingham to either the patient or the GP making the referral.
