What to expect in Daycare

Our Daycare facility provides a wide range of services in order to support the range of people who come to Nottinghamshire Hospice.

Our Staff

The Clinical Practitioner leads a team of very experienced Senior Nurses and Palliative Nursing Assistants (PNA's) who provide high quality nursing care.

Transport

People may choose to make their own transport arrangements, or they can travel by a car driven by a volunteer. Alternatively, for the less mobile, collection by one of our wheelchair accessible mini-buses can be arranged.

Reception

Our Reception area is warm and welcoming, leading into a beautifully arranged hospice shop stocking a wide range of gifts, cards, books and gorgeous nearly-new clothes and accessories.

Catering

On arrival at Daycare, hot drinks and toast are served in our Coffee Bar. An appetising two course lunch is provided and afternoon tea with home-made cakes is available before departing for home. Special dietary needs can be catered for by our experienced Catering team. Assistance with meals can be provided by the nursing staff if required.

Activities

People who attend Daycare may learn new new skills or join in group activities organised by the Creative Therapist. For example, creative writing, artwork, quilling, board games, quizzes, entertainment and day trips. There are also 'themed days' organised such as the '60's extravaganza' and visits from local celebrities such as the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Team shown below.
