Adding Life to Days

Centenary celebrations as Ada reaches 100!

Celebrations have recently taken place at Nottinghamshire Hospice , as hospice patient Ada Flewitt celebrated her 100th birthday with friends and family.

On being presented with gifts and a cake from all at the hospice, Ada said: “Thank you all for celebrating my 100th birthday with me. I appreciate it very much and I’m surprised really that we’ve reached 100! We wouldn’t have done if it wasn’t for our son, Patrick, he’s got us to 100.”

Patrick added: “Thank you to everyone at the hospice. What it has done for mum and dad is amazing. They’ve been coming here for the last two months and it has given them something to look forward to, it has given me a break and been absolutely marvellous. Mum often asks when it’s Friday because they love coming. Thank you for giving them a new purpose in life and something to look forward to.”

Ada’s husband, Walter, also celebrated his 100th birthday in September 2015. The couple have been married for 76 years.
