Care for Christmas
Traditionally, Christmas is a time of celebration, family reunions and remembering how truly special life can be when we share and build memories together.
During the festive period we’ll be providing care to people living with life-limiting illnesses across Nottinghamshire and providing emotional support to their families and loved ones, in the comfort of their own homes, so that they can spend Christmas together.
To ensure that no family is left without our support this Christmas, we want to raise £50,000 which could enable us to provide compassionate care, warmth and festive spirit to five families every single day in December, including Christmas day.
How can I help families to make lasting memories this Christmas?
Whether you donate in memory of a loved one, attend one of our events, or buy our Christmas cards, you’ll give families across Nottinghamshire the greatest gift of all this Christmas, time together to make lasting memories.
Light up a Life is the time we come together each year to remember and celebrate the people we love and have lost.
For every person, there may be a special memory we hold, a special reason why we want to remember them and celebrate the joy their lives brought to us. Join us this year for Light up a Life and dedicate a light on our trees in their memory.
Our Christmas trees will shine bright with hundreds of lights over Christmas to symbolise the life and memory of those precious relationships.
This year, we’ve launched an online Light Up a Life Tree, where you can dedicate a light and make a donation, giving hospice patients and their families the chance to create their own precious memories this Christmas.
We’ll also be holding two events for families and friends to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have died, see their lights shining on our real Christmas trees, and view the Book of Remembrance. Details will be available shortly, so check back soon or keep an eye on our social media channels for the big announcement.
We’re inviting businesses and others to turn our historic cupola tower into a beacon of hope that will shine a light across the city every night in December to raise vital funds as the annual ‘Light Up a Night’ campaign returns.
Organisations can light up the night by donating £350 – the cost of providing a nurse to care for a patient overnight in their own home.
