Senior Healthcare Assistants (HCA) to join Hospice in Your Home visiting teams

(Hospice Night Support and Hospice Outreach & Discharge Support)

Full and part time contracts available (days and nights)

Day rate £10.85 per hour & Night Rate £14.43 per hour

Do you want to be part of a growing network in community based palliative care?

We are looking for experienced HCAs to join our dynamic, community palliative care service, providing care and support to patients and families throughout the day and night at the end of life.  You will be passionate about delivering hands on care to patients in their homes. You will be required to drive across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire delivering palliative care, the Hospice provides a car for this purpose.

You will be a great team player; predominantly working in twos (always at night). You will be able to prioritise your workload within a busy service, delivering the highest standards of palliative care to people in their own homes.

The Hospice visiting services are leading the way in providing community based palliative care in Nottinghamshire, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

You will work closely with the existing Hospice team and liaise confidently with the wider Out of Hours Community Health and Social Care Teams.

You will be supported by experienced registered nurses, a comprehensive induction package, regular training/supervision and ongoing support.

Essential:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent in Health & Social Care) or NVQ Level 2 and extensive community palliative care experience.
  • Community experience
  • Palliative care experience
  • Full car driving licence and confident to drive at night across a large geographical area (hospice car provided).
  • Computer literacy (basic). SystmOne an advantage.

The successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
