Nottinghamshire Businesses to Light Up a Night This Christmas
This festive season, Nottinghamshire Hospice is asking companies across the county to raise £300 each to help fund vital care and support services for local people with terminal and life limiting illnesses.
Christmas gives the perfect excuse for office fundraising with colleagues able to take part in festive jumper days, mince pie bake offs and much more.
Hannah Keefe, Willmott Dixon Construction said: “We are delighted to be working with Nottinghamshire Hospice on their Light up a Night Campaign. Through a series of different fundraising efforts involving our local office staff and site team we will be sure to hit the target whilst getting in the Christmas spirit to help support this fantastic cause”.
Jo Polkey, Clinical Services Manager at Nottinghamshire Hospice added: “Our nurses provide care, respite and emotional support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in people’s homes. Care overnight in someone’s home will allow the whole family to get a good night’s sleep meaning they can continue to support their loved one through this difficult time.”
In recognition of each £300 raised, Nottinghamshire Hospice will light the tower at their premises on Woodborough Road to remind people across the community that their nurses are available around the clock. Each night will be dedicated to one of the businesses supporting the campaign and that company will also feature on social media and on the hospice website.
Every year Nottinghamshire Hospice has to raise £2.7 million to provide palliative care across the county – that’s over £7,000 a day. Access to Day Therapy, Hospice at Home and bereavement services is free of charge and is only made possible through the generous support of the community.
