Wellbeing Programme – June and July 2019
Here you can find out what activities you’ll be able to take part in at our weekly wellbeing days every Friday.
Drop-in Cafe – every Friday 10am-2pm
Join us for free tea, coffee and cake whilst you have a relaxed chat with our care team and volunteers. You’ll get to have a look around the hospice and gardens and find out more about the ways we can help you.
Garden Club – every Friday from 10am-2pm
Come and enjoy some light gardening in our beautiful garden. Get to know other people and unwind before the weekend.
Tai Chi – 1pm-2pm every Friday from 7th June to 26th July inclusive
Tai Chi is a form of gentle exercise and stretching that also combines mindfulness. This can help reduce anxiety, improve balance and control and strengthen the body and help relaxation. This group is for any ability and you don’t have to have done it before, come and give it a go.
Care and Craft – every Friday 10.30am – 12noon
Meet others and enjoy creating at our craft workshops – no skill required!
Printing Workshop – Friday 7th June and Friday 14th June
The printing press is thought to be the invention that changed the world! During these 2 weeks try different types of printing (silk, lino, typography) while meeting others in a calm, relaxing environment. Feel a sense of achievement when you have also ‘invented’ something unique.
Memory Making – Friday 21st June, Friday 28th June, Friday 5th July and Friday 12th July
Making memories is important to everyone, whether that be for those we love or to help us remember others. Come and join us for a 4 week programme to make something that can help us recapture those precious memories. You may want to bring something important (an object, photo, fabric) to incorporate into your making.
Craft with Clay – Friday 19th July and Friday 26th July
Clay is one of those lovely tactile materials that we can mould to make all sorts of things. We can indent it with our hand and finger prints and use it to capture a little part of ourselves. This 2-week workshop will help us create something in clay, whether that be something useful or something that is just pleasing to look at, the satisfaction is that it is unique because you made it.
