Beeston shop open NOW! – A new chapter in Retail

The community of Beeston came out in force on Thursday, as Nottinghamshire Hospice opened its ninth and newest shop in Beeston. Located on Villa Street opposite Sainsbury’s, the grand opening was a joyful celebration of community spirit and support for hospice care.
As a crowd gathered, the ribbon was cut and locals were welcomed into their newest shop.

Community Shop Manager Sam Saunders, said the opening marked the beginning of a new chapter for the retail team, and for Nottinghamshire Hospice in Beeston.
“We’re thrilled to see such a warm welcome from the Beeston community.” said Sam. “Everyone has been so lovely, and we already have people saying they want to volunteer with us and donate. To keep the shop running smoothly we’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. If you have a few hours to spare, we’d love to hear from you!”
Nurse Debbie Winspear joined the morning to represent our care services and support the retail team’s efforts.
“It was an honour to be part of the ribbon cutting,” said Debbie. “Every pound of profit this shop makes will be spent directly on patient care, which wouldn’t be possible without the kindness of the community we serve.”

The Hospice offers care for free, funded by generous donations. However, it costs over £12,000 a day to run our end-of-life services.
Ross Henderson, Director of Income Generation gave insight. “We’re really proud to say that 96% of our patients die at home, surrounded by their loved ones, so finding more ways to grow our income is vital to support more people. We believe everyone deserves a good death.”
The Beeston shop is now open 7 days a week, 9am – 5pm and 10am – 4pm on Sundays, offering a wide range of pre-loved fashion, homeware, books, and more.
