Wellbeing at Nottinghamshire Hospice
Our Wellbeing programme is a programme of activities aimed at improving your quality of life after a life limiting diagnosis. We’ll work with you to suggest sessions that fit with your needs and interests. It’s all free of charge and there’s lots to choose from, including activities like:
- A programme of group sessions, talks and therapeutic activities.
- One-to-one sessions with a registered nurse or therapy staff.
- Tai chi, relaxation and complementary therapies.
- Arts and crafts, baking, and tabletop games.
- Information and advice sessions on specific conditions and welfare rights.
- Support for carers.
How will it help?
Wellbeing therapies and activities help maintain movement to joints, reduce pain and offer a space for relaxation. We can also help you understand and cope with feelings such as fear and anxiety which you may be finding overwhelming and isolating.
Who is it for?
Our Wellbeing offer is for anyone affected by a life-limiting illness, registered with a Nottingham or Nottinghamshire GP. Life-limiting illnesses may include lung disease, heart failure, cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Motor Neurone Disease, and other incurable conditions that shorten someone’s life expectancy.
As well as caring for the person who has been diagnosed, we also provide vital support to carers and loved ones too.
How to refer
All you need to do is pick up the phone and give us a call. Our friendly team of coordinators will talk with you to find out more about your needs and how we can help you. We can then arrange for you to pop in and see what goes on here.
Call us today on 0115 962 1222.

"The Palliative Care Nurse mentioned the hospice. As I go to the city hospital for all my appointments, it’s nice to come somewhere without those associations. When you’re having drugs and needles put into you all the time it’s so good to experience something nourishing."
