The role

We are inviting applications for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Wellbeing Team. This role is ideal for someone dedicated to person-centred, holistic care and enjoys making a meaningful difference to patients and carers. You’ll work closely with other wellbeing staff and volunteers in a warm, welcoming group environment, enabling patients to live as well as possible.  

About the role 

You’ll be a key part of ensuring Wellbeing sessions run safely and smoothly to support patients, carers and volunteers. 

Your day will include: 

  • Taking part in morning Wellbeing meetings and session planning 
  • Welcoming patients and carers and helping them feel at ease 
  • Providing practical support (mobility, personal care, reassurance) 
  • Supporting and leading group activities and discussions 
  • Encouraging participation and maintaining a warm, inclusive atmosphere 
  • Working alongside volunteers and supporting them in their role 
  • Observing patients’ wellbeing and sharing updates with the RN Lead 
  • Liaising with other hospice teams and the wider MDT to ensure joined-up care 
  • Completing clear, accurate documentation and contributing to team reflection 
  • Assist in providing education to our patients to help them remain independent, enhance symptom management and wellbeing.  

You’ll be a good fit if you 

  • Hold a Care Certificate
  • Communicate confidently and sensitively with patients and carers 
  • Enjoy teamwork and helping people feel included and valued 
  • Can use your own initiative while valuing team support 
  • Are organised, adaptable and calm in a varied role
