Hospice care is more than you think, and it’s closer than you know. Somewhere in your life, in your family, your friendships, your community – hospice care is already making a difference in ways you might not expect.  

At Nottinghamshire Hospice we provide 24/7 care at home for people facing terminal illnesses. 

But we also: 

• run wellbeing group sessions – offering companionship and joy in lonely times,  

• offer counselling and emotional support – even if you’ve not used our services before, 

• let carers get the rest they deserve – we’re here so they can take a break. 

This is what hospice care looks like in Nottinghamshire. 

What many don’t realise is how crucial Gifts in Wills are in allowing us to provide this care, funding every 1 in 10 people we care for at home. Without them, we might lose our ability to deliver end of life care to everyone who needs it.  

Hospice care is free at the point of use. But, unlike the NHS, it is not fully state-funded. While we receive some government funding, more than half of our care is paid for by the generosity of the people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.  

For over 45 years, we’ve been a part of Nottinghamshire’s story. We’ve been here for hundreds of local families, and we want to be here for many more years to come.  

When someone in Nottinghamshire needs us, we’re there. But only because someone else remembered us in their Will.  

Now we’re asking you to be that someone for the next generation. When you leave a Gift in your Will to us, you ensure that when your neighbour gets that diagnosis, when a local family faces the unthinkable, when someone you know needs dignity and comfort, when life feels impossible – we’re here.
