When every mile matters: £4,800 raised at Nottingham Running Festival
Earlier this month, 35 dedicated runners laced up their trainers to raise money for Nottinghamshire Hospice, by taking part in Nottingham Running Festival.

The sun was shining and the atmosphere buzzing as people arrived to take on 5k, 10k, and half marathon runs at the festival, which took place in the scenic grounds of Nottingham Racecourse and Colwick Country Park.
“Amazing support from Hospice staff” — race-day moments that kept us going
Rachel assembled a team of 30 runners in support of the hospice after we cared for her mum earlier this year. She said:
“I would highly recommend Nottingham Running Festival. The organisation on the day was great, with amazing support from the Hospice staff at various points cheering us all on. The course is fabulous, fairly flat, and having the choice of distances meant there was something for all our team, which meant everyone could take part and do their bit to support the hospice.”
More than just miles
All our runners really did make every mile matter, raising over £4,800. This incredible amount could fund 13 nights of overnight care in a patient’s home at the end of their life, ensuring they are able to fulfil their wish to remain at home, in familiar surroundings, with the people and things they love close by. It gives their family chance to rest and catch up on sleep too, knowing that their loved one is in safe hands, being cared for.
Our Community Fundraiser, Becky, said, “It was fantastic to see so many people at Nottingham Running Festival showing their support for Nottinghamshire Hospice. We’re proud and thankful towards everyone who took part and raised money for our care. We can’t wait for next year’s event! ”
