Make a difference this festive season

Festive fundraising for Nottinghamshire Hospice is a meaningful way to bring people together, while helping ensure compassionate care is available when it is needed most. Why not take part in one of our festive fundraising ideas below and see how you can make a difference.

As Christmas approaches, homes fill with lights, decorations and the excitement of spending time with loved ones. Yet for many local families that we care for, the season can be particularly challenging. We provide expert care and support every day of the year, including Christmas day, helping patients and families make precious memories together.

Festive fundraising for Nottinghamshire Hospice is a meaningful way to bring people together, while helping ensure compassionate care is available when it is needed most. Why not take part in one of our festive fundraising ideas below and see how you can make a difference.

  • Host a Christmas jumper or socks day at your school or workplace – Encourage people to wear their favourite festive knitwear or accessories in exchange for a donation. It’s simple, fun and easy for people of all ages to join in.
  • Festive Bake Sale – Raise money by making and selling mince pies, Christmas cakes and other seasonal themed treats. You could turn it into a festive bake off!
  • Host a festive fuddle, Christmas party or Christmas coffee morning – celebrate with family, friends, neighbours or colleagues, ask everyone to bring food, drinks and put on some Christmas music, you could also include Christmas games or a tombola. Ask guests to make a donation.
  • Make and sell Christmas decorations – get crafty and make baubles, bunting or Christmas wreaths.
  • Carol concert or choir event – are you part of a music group or know someone who is? You could put on a music event and ask for donations.
  • Visit our shops to do your Christmas shopping or buy our Christmas cards – Our shops have a variety of good quality items suitable for everyone from homeware and clothes to books and toys! We also have a great selection of Christmas cards.
  • Donate your unwanted Christmas presents to Nottinghamshire Hospice shops – we always need good quality donations, after Christmas collect up and drop off anything unwanted.
  • Host a festive quiz– Does your local pub have a quiz night, why not ask if they would do a festive themed one and raise money? Or host a quiz at home, work or school!
  • Ask for donations instead of Christmas presents – If you are not sure what you want this year, why not make a difference for local people by asking for a donation to Nottinghamshire Hospice.
