Your Challenge. Their Care.

Each year, we support 1 in 4 people who die across Nottinghamshire. Alongside caring for patients, we support families with guidance, reassurance and someone to turn to when things feel overwhelming.

That only happens because of supporters like you.

Every step you take, every mile you run, every penny you raise helps us bring comfort, dignity, and compassionate care to families in Nottinghamshire when it matters most.

Your Challenge Starts Here

The AJ Bell Great North Run is the world’s biggest and best half marathon, with 60,000 runners taking on the 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields. An incredible atmosphere, on route entertainment and un-paralleled support throughout the race, it is not one to miss!

We have five guaranteed places in the Great North Run 2026.

When you run for Nottinghamshire Hospice you’ll get:

  • A Nottinghamshire Hospice t-shirt or vest to stand out on race day
  • A dedicated contact in the Fundraising Team who will be on hand with tips for your fundraising and encouragement to help you smash your fundraising target
  • The incredible feeling of knowing your fundraising is helping families stay together at home when it matters most.

Don’t miss out!

With just five places available, you’ll need to be quick! Fill out this expression of interest form to be in with a chance of getting a place in the 2026 Great North Run.

The Care You’re Running For

Victoria took part in the 2024 Great North Run for Nottinghamshire Hospice after her father, Neil, received our care in 2019.

Victoria said, “As you can imagine, this was a difficult and exhausting time for us all. In his final few days, Nottinghamshire Hospice came to our aid – our guardian angels. They came each evening to our home and sat with Dad through the night, keeping him comfortable which enabled us to get some much-needed rest for the day ahead. They were professional, kind and above all compassionate.”

Victoria

Taking on the Great North Run will help us ensure more families like Victoria’s are supported as loved ones approach the end of life.

Already have a ballot place or know someone who does? Great! Could you support your local hospice too? We don’t ask that you raise a minimum amount, simply raise as much as you can. Let us know you’re running for us by contacting fundraising@nottshospice.org or giving us a call on 0115 910 1008 option 5.
