Your Challenge. Their Care.

Every day, our care helps prevent three people at the end of their life from being admitted into hospital. This means they can stay in familiar surroundings, with symptoms managed and support in place at home for them and their family.

That only happens because of supporters like you.

When you take a leap for Nottinghamshire Hospice with a tandem skydive, every penny you raise helps us bring reassurance, comfort, and compassionate care to families in Nottinghamshire when it matters most.

Your Challenge Starts Here

Take on a tandem skydive and experience the thrill of freefall skydiving with just a brief training session. You’ll skydive harnessed to the front of a fully qualified parachuting instructor. Feel the adrenaline rush as you leap from a plane, free-falling through the sky at up to 120mph, followed by approximately five minutes flying gently to the ground under the parachute.

When you do a tandem skydive for Nottinghamshire Hospice, you’ll get:

  • A Nottinghamshire Hospice t-shirt or vest to stand out on the day
  • A dedicated contact in the Fundraising Team who will be on hand with tips for your fundraising and encouragement to help you smash your fundraising target
  • The incredible feeling of knowing your fundraising is helping families stay together at home when it matters most.

Dare to fly? Dare to soar? Dare to make a difference? Book your skydive with Skydive Langar here.

The Care You’re Jumping For

Lynn did a skydive in memory of her husband, Doug. We supported Doug after his diagnosis of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) in 2016 – first with Wellbeing sessions and then with Hospice in Your Home.

“As I entered for the first time, I thought ‘this place feels amazing’ and I felt myself relax as soon as I walked in the door. Everyone I spoke to was so lovely. The Wellbeing sessions made such a difference for Doug, and he loved coming here.

“As Doug couldn’t tell me when he needed something, he had a sensor monitor that would light up green when he (or the cat!) moved. Someone had to have their eyes on him all the time. When Nottinghamshire Hospice’s night support came, I could give the monitor to the nurses so I could sleep. It was a huge relief as I hadn’t slept properly for days.

“He wanted to die at home and I wouldn’t have been able to give him a good death without the Hospice. I was able to organise friends and family to come to visit him. Towards the end, Doug couldn’t speak but he felt understood by the nurses, even when he could no longer communicate.”

Taking on a Tandem Skydive will help us ensure more people like Doug are supported to stay at home, with their family supported too.
