Nottinghamshire Hospice announced as Savills Nottingham’s 2026 chosen charity, with first major fundraiser set for Rutland Water

Nottinghamshire Hospice is pleased to announce that Savills Nottingham has chosen us as its charity of the year for 2026, marking the beginning of an important year of fundraising to support end of life care for people across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
The year of support will launch with a major charity challenge at Rutland Water on Thursday 14th May 2026, where members of the Savills Nottingham team will take part in one of three endurance events: a 15.1 mile walk, a 6.8 mile walk, or a 15.1 mile cycle.
Funds raised through this and other events will directly support the Hospice’s mission to provide free, compassionate care for people at the end of their lives. Since opening its doors in 1980, Nottinghamshire Hospice has been dedicated to ensuring that local people receive clinical and emotional support when they need it most.
Today, Nottinghamshire Hospice cares for one in four people who die in Nottinghamshire each year, enabling 96% of our patients to remain in the comfort of their own homes – something most people say they would choose if given the option. Each day of care costs £12,000 to deliver, and while the hospice receives some NHS funding, more than half of our services rely on the generosity of the community.
Speaking about being selected as Savills Nottingham’s chosen charity for 2026, Claire Herrick, Head of Fundraising at Nottinghamshire Hospice, says:
“Community support is crucial to sustaining these services. Donations of all sizes make a real impact. A contribution of £35 could fund a one-to-one counselling session for someone coping with loss, whilst a donation of £150 could provide a wellbeing group session, offering emotional and social support to those facing life limiting illness. A gift of £360 could pay for a full night of care from the Hospice, giving carers and families much needed rest and reassurance.
“We are delighted to have been chosen as Savills Nottingham’s charity of the year for 2026. Support like this is so important to the hospice – demand for our care is growing every year, and we are only able to continue supporting the community of Nottinghamshire thanks to the generosity of local people and organisations like Savills. We’re looking forward to a fantastic year of fundraising with the Savills team.”
Victor Ktori, Head of Savills Nottingham, adds:
“Nottinghamshire Hospice plays an incredibly important role in our community, and we feel privileged to support the vital work they do for local families. Our team is already energised for the year ahead, beginning with our Rutland Water challenge, and we hope our efforts will help contribute to the care, comfort and dignity the hospice provides every day.”
