Community Fundraising Volunteer

Fancy doing something amazing with your spare time? We’d love you to join our friendly and enthusiastic volunteer team to help with vital fundraising.  Get involved with community-based tasks such as helping at hospice events, circulating donation tins, researching local businesses for raffle prizes… whatever suits your interest and skillset. This volunteer role is super flexible; whether you have a few hours a week or just now and then, we’d love to have you onboard making a real difference!

What you’ll be doing

This role is incredibly flexible, allowing you to pick activities that appeal to you and often at a time that suits.

Love driving? Volunteer to collect and distribute our collection tins to local businesses.
Love to chat to others and be out and about in the local community? Help run a stall promoting Nottinghamshire Hospice at an event!

There are a variety of responsibilities to suit everyone!

You could support in ways such as:

  • Researching community groups, schools, local businesses in your local area and identify possible fundraising opportunities
  • Assisting with raffles and tombolas at events
  • Collecting donations
  • Contacting companies to source raffle prizes
  • Collecting and dropping off raffle prizes, collection tins at local businesses and community groups, and fundraising resources to supporters

This role is very flexible and you can pick when, where and how often you would like to help. We will inform you of when community groups are available and when events take place.

This is a unique role that allows you to volunteer in an ad hoc way, fitting around other commitments at a time that suits you.

Who we’re looking for…

We welcome applicants with different skills and experience, however some of the following attributes will help you succeed in the role:

  • Essential to have access to transport
  • Desirable to be able to drive and have access to a car
  • Be 18 years old or over
  • A passion for supporting the work of Nottinghamshire Hospice and inspiring others to do the same
  • Confidence in handling money
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm and a positive outlook
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Organisational skills
  • Flexibility

You’ll need to be aged 18 or over and undergo a clear DBS check, prior to you starting. This will be explained when you apply.
