The role

We provide a range of palliative care services for people in Nottinghamshire and are currently looking to recruit two dynamic and experienced Bereavement Counsellors, to join our Bereavement Services Team.

The role involves working within the Bereavement Services Team supporting Nottinghamshire residents who are over the age of 18 who have been affected by a palliative diagnosis or affected by an expected death. You will carry a caseload offering 1:1 bereavement counselling to clients with the most complex and urgent pre and post bereavement needs. Develop and facilitate both pre and post bereavement support groups around Nottinghamshire as well as at the Nottinghamshire Hospice. Participate in the promotion and development of the service. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Counsellor who has achieved a level 4 or higher qualification in a counselling modality, additionally with experience ideally gained within a palliative care or bereavement environment. You will work with current legislation and professional codes of practice and conduct (i.e. BACP/UKCP).  You must have proven communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to use your own initiative and to work autonomously.
