Be a Hospice Hero in 2020!
Looking to reach a new goal, do something different to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, or maybe you want to stake a claim to being the most fearless person in the office? We have just the thing for you – a life-changing challenge in aid of Nottinghamshire Hospice!
Virgin London Marathon 2020 – 26th April
Our charity place has now been allocated but if you have your own place we’d be so grateful if you ran for the hospice!
Take part in the world’s most famous marathon and raise funds for hospice care in Nottinghamshire. If you’ve been successful in the ballot and would like to run for us we’ll be with you all the way in helping you to meet your fundraising target!
Great North Run – 13th September
The Great North Run is the world’s greatest half marathon as you and almost 60,000 others will know as you line up in the centre of Newcastle and head out through Gateshead and South Tyneside before arriving, sufficiently pleased with yourself and, quite probably, exhausted, in South Shields.
Extra motivation and support will come in the form of the many ‘Bands on the Run’ spread along the course, as well as thousands of other runners and the internal desire to reach your goal.
Robin Hood Marathon – 27th September
The Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon is back and we’re looking for hospice heroes to run for Notts Hospice! This year is an extra special year for the half marathon as they’re celebrating 40 years, tying in beautifully with Nottinghamshire Hospice as we’re also celebrating our own 40th anniversary.
Choose your own adventure!
If you have your own challenge in mind, or would like a little help finding the perfect challenge, get in touch on 0115 910 1008 ext 295 or firstname.lastname@example.org and our fundraisers will be on hand to support you all the way. This is a great opportunity to get creative, think outside the box, and find a challenge that is perfect for you – it might be something as simple as giving up chocolate for a month or sacrificing your morning coffee for sponsorship!
How your challenge supports us
You won’t be just getting out of your comfort zone or getting fit and healthy – your training and hard work will support people in Nottinghamshire dealing with a life-limiting illness, so you really can change lives.
Every year we need to raise £2.7 million to provide end of life care across the county – that’s over £7,000 a day! Access to Day Therapy, Hospice at Home and Bereavement services for our patients and their families is free of charge and is only made possible through the generous support of the community through events like this.
Without our hospice heroes, we wouldn’t be able to be there for our patients and their families at the most difficult times of their lives.
